Boulder, CO is located 35 miles from Denver and houses the University of Colorado's main campus. CU is the largest university in Colorado. Boulder is also home of Naropa University (the only accredited Buddhist-inspired university in the United States). Boulder's elevation is 5,430 Ft. and sits along the Flatiron mountains which contain hundreds of miles of open space and City of Boulder Open Space website is a great resource for out door activities.

Boulder is only an hour away from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. It also has several government scientific institutions: NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology; formerly National Bureau of Standards), home of the atomic clock that defines the world's time, NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research). The heart of town is the ever-lively Pearl Street Mall.
