Casa Grande, AZ is located halfway between Phoenix and Tuscon and is rapidly growing. It is the largest city in Pinal County. The name in Spanish translates to "Big House." It was named after the Hohokam ruins at the nearby Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. Once full of agricultural and rural settlers, Casa Grande is now home to many urbanites who own homes in the area. People tend to either commute north to work in Phoenix or south to work in Tucson. In order to keep up with the demand with the growing population, many new gas stations, restaurants and shopping centers have been built.
