FAQ Before Joining RoommateShop® to find a roommate in Colorado, Nevada, or Arizona

Will RoommateShop run a background check on a roommate if I find one?

Yes!

For a fee of $75 (Currently on Special for only $50!) RoommateShop will run a FULL background check on any roommate you find. You can pay this fee or ask your potential roommate to pay the fee. It's your decision. We check everything: rental history, credit report, criminal history, and employment verification. We will return the results in 3 business days (usually sooner).

Advice: When you sign up, print out the application so that it's ready for when you find a roommate. Have them fill it out!

How do I join RoommateShop®?

It's simple!

After you've used our "browse for free" option and are ready to find a roommate, Sign up here.

During the sign up process you will create a login and password that you will use to access your RoommateShop® profile. This will help you search for roommates.

We will ask you a series of questions about the place you desire or the place that you have in order to match you up with another roommate.

We will also ask you questions about your personal lifestyle. We will match you up with potential roommates based on Location, Rent, Lease, Gender, Age, Move-in Date, Pets, and Smoking preferences. We also allow for you to specify sexual orientation preferences.

After you have completed the sign up and have paid the fee that corresponds to the area you have signed up in, you can start your roommate search immediately. You account is active and you should check your email or click on the "Sent to email" tab. This shows you your Exact roommate matches.

I've forgotten my login or password. Now what?

Go to the Forgot My Password page or from the homepage click on the "Forgot my password" link in the middle of the page. Type in your user name (case sensitive) into the input field and a new password will be sent to you.
